James H. Hooker- Paying it forward

The Key to Reentry Success

As the CEO for Televerde, James H. hooker guides the company’s strategic focus as a premier provider of integrated lead-to-revenue services. Hooker started the company in 1995 with a mission to help clients solve complex problems through market intelligence and demand generation programs. Since then, the stellar results that consistently exceed expectations have enabled Televerde to establish long-term relationships with leading B2B tech and non-tech companies. Hoker strongly advocates that Televerde provide clients with  a “second-to-none” experience based on extreme customer service and attaining the best return on investment. The goal Hooker sets for the Televerde team is clear: Set the bar on great performance and then continually drive to exceed it.

What separates Televerde’s story from other successful business start-ups is that it would not be operating today without the help of Correctional Industries. His message during the address will focus on how Televerde developed partnerships with Correctional Industries that not only provided offenders with training while incarcerated, but also how the company turned into a successful reentry program where ex-offenders with training while incarcerated, but also how the company turned into a successful reentry program where ex-offenders pursue careers within the company after release. While many start-up companies make investments in equipment and software, Televerde invested in an offender workforce with a “Pay it Forward” mentality…meaning hire and train offenders now so that when they are released, they can continue to play an integral role in the continued success of Televerde, as well as chart a course for their own reentry success.

Hooker will provide actual case studies of ex-offenders, portraying their reentry path from working for Televerde..to release…to successful careers within the company. He’ll also provide insight and stories (some humorous) on the initial challenges of working with this business model and how it’s possible for private industry and Correctional Industries to work together to build a successful reentry program.
